I am Dr. Shawnda Spruill, a principal in the Richmond County School System. I have worked in education for over a decade in underserved schools. Over the past few years, I have completed research on how to improve schools with low academic performances, high staff turnover, and high student discipline rates. In 2015, I began to design and present workshops and training for educators and educational leaders on how to improve instruction, school environment, and school culture to lead a positive and impactful transformation in their schools and their communities.

I wrote LEAD. MODEL. EMPOWER. as a framework for principals to lead their schools toward higher academic achievement.
